Introducing Jilla Active - A Sustainable Ethical Gym Clothes

As someone who spends a lot of time in her activewear, finding activewear that is also sustainable has been a battle for the last 5 years. Since starting my journey with sustainable fashion I have found it difficult to find clothing that is sustainable, affordable and my style. After starting a 'activewear capsule' it is really important to me that all my pieces make me feel good but that they can be easily mixed and matched. Many sustainable brands are too loud or sporty for me and while colourful leggings are beautiful, they just don't fit well with my other activewear.

Jilla Active has been on my radar for a few years and they first caught my eye with their seamless legging design when I was looking for an alternative to Gym Shark. They design their products in London and manufacture in China in an audited factory that is actually owned by Jilla's Director! The factory name is  Zhejiang Shengzhou Xinmei Clothing, the factory has regular SEDEX reports and a WRAP certificate to authenticate the that there is a high standard of working condition for all employees and they do not employ children.

Jilla Active are passionate about sustainability and have incorporated it into all aspects of the business. Their clothing is crafted in fabrics such as:

- Recycled and Non-Recycled Polyamide
- Bamboo Viscose Yarn
- Modal
- Recycled and Non-Recycled Polyester
- Elastane
- Organic Cotton

They don't compromise on design and this was one of the things that drew me to the brand and their products. I love seamless gym clothing as I don't like to feel tight and uncomfortable regardless of if I am hiking up a mountain, on a run or in a yoga class; Jilla specialise in seamless technology and conduct all clothing with a four way stretch that they achieve with circular knitting

"Comfort and feel are at the core of what we do, we consciously source soft yet technical yarns in order to develop innovative products with seamless design. Seamless is perfect for Jilla Active because we can achieve a whole new level of comfort, freedom of movement and flexibility."

This summer I want to focus on my fitness and build back up what I feel I lost during lockdown. I am focusing so much more on my nutrition, what I put in my body but also what I put on my body and as always that has to be sustainable. It also has to be something that I feel comfortable in and will assist in performance during all types of activity. I have been really enjoying yoga and Pilates but I also need leggings and sports bras that can perform on hikes and higher intensity activity.

Jilla Active have very kindly sent me some pieces to try (pictures above) and set up a discount code ETHICALBUNNY15 for 15% off anything that may catch you eye.
