Forever Blue - My Love Affair with Vintage Denim

I have given up buying new jeans. I just don't see the point in it when I love vintage denim so much. I've never been a fan of that new jean feeling and have always preferred them a little worn in. One of my favorite pairs of jeans i bout for £1.48 from Shropshire Cat Rescue and I have worn them more times than I could ever count.

Denim has, for me, presented once of the biggest problems when it come to fast fashion. Aside from how thirsty cotton is and most of the cotton being GMO; the denim industry is extremely dirty. a third are produced in southern china where Greenpeace found that factories are flushing bleach, dye and heavy metals into the local rivers. For me, this makes denim jeans one of the worst offenders, creating environmental and social problems throughout the production.

I find vintage and secondhand denim in charity shops, vintage shops, Depop and car-boots where I can grab a worn in piece of secondhand denim at a rock-bottom price. They are also ace places to grab Levis for a quarter of the price - a sure fire way to elevate any vintage look.

Do you love secondhand denim?
